There seem to be a number of entities using this acronym. In the case of my post it's the <a href="http://gcc.gnu.org/" rel="nofollow">GNU Compiler Collection</a>, which is an important tool for software development (to put it in layman terms). According to Google, it can also be: <a href="http://www.arab.de/arabinfo/gcc.htm" rel="nofollow">Gulf Cooperation Council</a></a> <a href="http://www.gccevent.com/" rel="nofollow">Global Corporate Challenge</a> <a href="http://www.gcc-uk.org/" rel="nofollow">General Chiropractic Council</a> <a href="http://www.gcc.org/" rel="nofollow">Grace Community Church</a> Among others. :-) Well, I guess it depends on the context.
